Logos that Use Circles:

Yay! After working with circles for this weeks exercise I keep finding a lot of logos with circles in the theme. Such as my two favorite logos. Maybe that's why they appeal to me? Very cool.

Simple Shapes are possibly the most strong and versitile design mediums that you could lay your hands on. Looking at the circle in particular, it is a representation of a continuous cycle. It can also be used to represent wholeness.

Anyways, moving on to the examples.

iNET.
When I first looked at this logo I thought that the world was transforming into something colorful and beautiful. I thought this because of the change from the world, to the fragmented circles around it.

I found it to be quiet interesting. Also reminds me a little of a target, especially with the 'i' of iNet in the middle of the circles. Very strong and encompassing.

The NASA Symbol:

It uses the extremely simplistic version of a circle in the logo. In this logo it represents the universe. In Gregory Thomas's book "How to Draw Logos, Symbols and Icons" he talks about the use of circles in primitive drawings. They were used to create mouths or eyes.

Also, circles were often used to represent eternity. I think this idea of eternity could be presented in this logo because the Universe supposedly goes on for eternity.

Organic Expo Logo:
I think that this a nice example of the use of a circle. It implements the use of figure ground. I liked this design because of the color used and the fact that the use of figure ground works so well in this image.
Don't really have all of that much to say about this one.

I like the top and bottom ones. Although the way organic and Expo run together confuses my barely literate brain, ha ha
